Regina, June 23, 2020 - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) welcomes the Government of Saskatchewan’s funding announcement today for a new school in Regina’s northern sector.

"We are very pleased to see that the Government of Saskatchewan has honored the Memorandum of understanding signed on March 19, 2019, between Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) and the Government of Saskatchewan," said Conseil scolaire fransaskois Chair, Alpha Barry. "Our school division will continue to work with the Province to ensure that all Fransaskois students have access to the resources and infrastructure they need to ensure their full development. "

For his part, the Minister of Education, Gordon Wyant expressed his appreciation of the efforts made on both sides:  

“We are pleased following the MOU that we have been able to work together to secure a new school in Regina for our Fransaskois students,” Deputy Premier and Minister of Education Gordon Wyant said. “We will continue to work with the Conseil des écoles fransaskoises to ensure that all Francophone students receive quality education and to support the vitality and the development of official language minority communities in Saskatchewan.”  

CÉF would like to thank the entire Fransaskois community for its continued commitment and collaboration in the development of the Fransaskois school system.

French first-language school today, bilingual Francophone for life! - Conseil des écoles fransaskoises (CÉF) is home to 2,000 Prekindergarten to Grade 12 students in 15 elementary and secondary schools across the province. Financed by the Ministry of Education, it is the only French as a first language school board in Saskatchewan.
